Large Coiled Vessel Must be at least 12 inches tall Must be high fired & have a foot Principles of Balance & Contrast must be used Entire piece must be coiled. Once built, you can blend to create a smooth surface or create a design with the coils as you build. Piece needs to have a lip, neck, shoulder, body, & foot. Coils must be made from extruder. Sketch goes on back side of this handout. You must draw a to scale the actual vase and cut it out as a template. (this helps you create the desired form…without it ouch! It hurts!) Wall hanging set Create a set of at least 3 pieces that, combined create a unified grouping. The set must be able to hang on the wall safely and securely or safely hung from the ceiling or tree branch. Holes must be at least ½ inch away from the edge of piece so to not crack.
