Senior Conference Agenda Students reviewed individual PAAR (transcript) Options for the future College Applications and Tests Scholarships and Financial Aid Reviewed resources available on/off campus

College Applications For most public colleges and universities in the state of Texas, use the TEXAS Common Application – complete online at ApplyTexas.org Limited number of paper copies available in the Counseling Office for those without Internet access ONLINE IS THE BEST WAY!!

Applying for Private or Out-of-State Schools Use commonapp.org Use the Internet Access the college website – examples: www.baylor.edu (Baylor) www.stanford.edu (Stanford) Select On-Line Admissions – fill out the questionnaire Go to the Counseling Office and request a transcript in advance

Tests for College Admissions In order to be admitted to a 4-year college you must take either the SAT or the ACT Program tests 2-year schools such as San Antonio College, St. Philip’s, Palo Alto, Northwest Vista, Northeast Lakeview require the TSI TSI is required for all state supported schools

How To Get A Transcript See Ms. Welsh in the Counseling Office Fill out, completely, the Authorization for Release of Student Records Form – if student is under 18, parent signature is required All transcripts for scholarships are free 1st transcript for college admission application is free $5.00 fee for each transcript after the first

Class Rank Includes all classes that are required for graduation requirements Weighted cumulative rank point total used Official rank provided after 6th semester will be available after Monday, September 19. Student may visit their assigned counselor for this information in the foyer. Date to be announced.

Final day to request your summer rank, through a transcript, is this Friday! September 9th 4:30pm.

Letter of Recommendation Procedures Complete Permission to Write Recommendation Form and provide to each recommender (counselor, teachers) Refer to the Senior Booklet for sample résumé Allow two weeks advance notice

College Visitation You are allowed 2 days a year for college visitation. You must bring proof of your visitation to the attendance office.

In-House Scholarship Opportunities LISTEN TO THE ANNOUNCEMENTS Applications available in the Counseling Office Return the application to the Counseling Office - BEFORE THE DEADLINE!
