Empowerment Continuum

TRU Empowerment The opportunity for youth to participate in meaningful roles—with the ability to bond with adults in the environment and receive positive reinforcement and recognition. (Chinman & Linney, 1998) The process of allowing youth to gain the skills, critical awareness and opportunities to create changes in their environment. Youth are viewed as colleagues with adults on their ability to advocate.
