Course Outline Assessment This course provides students the opportunity to participate in a range of activities to develop their theoretical knowledge, analytical skills and practical ability in a variety of disciplines within Forensic science. Assessment The course is divided into practical experiments, assignments, unit tests and an end of semester exam.
Topics Covered Biology in Forensics - Students will explore types of evidence, blood analysis, DNA profiling, fingerprinting, hair and fibre analysis, entomology and anthropology. Chemistry in Forensics - Students will explore atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical reactions, acids and bases and chromatography. Physics in Forensic - Students will explore Newton’s Laws of Inertia and skid mark analysis.
