Mrs. Eisenhart’s 1st Grade Class Welcome Parents! Mrs. Eisenhart’s 1st Grade Class Rm: 7

School Hours: *Before Care: 7:00 am – 8:15 am (must register prior to first day of school with Esther in the cafeteria). *Students not enrolled in before care can enter school at 8:00 am for breakfast and 8:15 am for teacher pickup *Dismissal is at 3:00pm *First Day of School: Dimissal will be in the classroom at 3:00 PM. *After Care 3:00pm – 6:30pm (must register prior to first day of school). *Students cannot be left alone if they are not registered in before/after care.

Parent Volunteer Forms *Available on the school website www.imaterelementary.org Parent Portal Access Instructions *Instructions are on the school website. *Sign-Up for iMater Parent E-mails on the website.

Absences and Tardies *Make sure your child is in class on time on a daily basis. *Students need to be in their seats by 8:30am. *Make sure when your child is absent, you send a note to excuse his/her absence. *5 consecutive absences REQUIRE a doctors note to be considered excused. *Students with an unexcused absence will not be allowed to make up work.

Curriculum: Common Core Reading/Writing *Students retell stories, including key details, understanding the moral/lesson of the story. *Students ask and answer questions about key details in the text. *Character/Setting/Events *Students use illustrations and details in a text to describe key ideas. *Students name a topic and supply facts about the topic. *Students provide some sense of closure. *Spelling/High-Frequency Words/Vocabulary *Reading/Language Arts interactive notebook *Weekly Assessments (starting January, students will be responsible for reading the stories on their own.

Math Curriculum: *Addition *Subtraction *Word Problems *Doubles Plus One *Doubles Minus One *Place Value *Money *Patterns *Time *Geometric Shapes *Measurements

Science Curriculum: Social Studies Curriculum *Students will be conducting science experiments in our science lab once every two weeks. *Science Interactive Notebook *Scientific Process *Animals/Plants *Sun/Earth *Water Cycle Social Studies Curriculum *Social Studies Interactive notebook *Time for kids

Home Learning: *Homework will be given on a daily basis. *Students are responsible for copying their homework in their Agenda on a daily basis. *Students NEED to practice Spelling/Sight/Vocabulary Words on a DAILY basis! *i-Ready: Students will be require to complete at least 45 minutes of Math and 45 minutes of Reading. **Please check the homework on the school site on a weekly basis for important information.

Behavior Policies *Behavior Chart *Reward System *Sad Grams *Consequences *Unacceptable behavior will result in loss of privileges (field trips, class parties, recess time, etc.) *Check your child’s agenda daily for any teacher notes sent home.

Dress Code: Girls Khaki Bermuda Shorts or Khaki Pants White or Navy Blue Polo with logo Solid Navy Blue sweater All black sneakers or black converse sneakers White or black socks Boys Black belt

Dress Code for cold days: Students may wear a long sleeve shirt that matches the color of the uniform shirt that they are wearing that day. Ex: white long sleeve shirt with white uniform shirt Sweaters MUST be solid, navy blue *Students are NOT allowed to wear boots or Uggs on cold days, ONLY on Fridays, for Jean Day.
