Expectations Bring your instrument, music folder, and assignment sheet on your lesson day and full band day See Miss Stevenson to reschedule your lesson time if necessary Full Band Rehearsals - 6th grade band meets during encore music time (red or yellow band) - 5th grade band meets during encore music time (red or yellow band) - 4th Full Band meets only during the spring semester Winter and Spring Concerts Try your best and let Miss Stevenson know if you are having trouble with anything

Curriculum Instrumental curriculum is divided into four areas: Every student receives one forty minute lesson and participates in one full band rehearsal every 6 school days Students build upon foundation skills as they advance through the program Instrumental curriculum is divided into four areas: Individual Performance Skills Music Literacy Skills Musicianship and Music Understanding Ensemble Skills Students work to accomplish quarterly goals and yearly benchmarks

Home-School Connection The frequency that students play at home is much more important than the length of time they play Fifteen minutes of practice several evenings a week will produce better results than one long practice session Home practice is an opportunity for students to reinforce what has been introduced during lesson time
