Do’s and Don’ts of NJHS Induction April 16, 2015

Girls Do: Don’t: Dress modestly- your Sunday best. Wear a skirt, dress, or slacks. Don’t: Wear school clothes. Wear short hemlines (no shorter than 3 inches above the knee) Wear flip-flops!

Girls Do: Dress honorably. You are being recognized for your accomplishments. Wear comfortable dress shoes. (NO high heels) Don’t: Expose your shoulders (Straps should be at least 2” wide or a jacket/shrug is required). Wear low-cut clothing.

Guys Do: Do Not: Dress neatly! Wear slacks with a belt. Wearing a suit is up to you. Do Not: Wear shorts! Slacks are the only pants allowed. Wear a t-shirt.

Guys Do: Don’t Wear a button down shirt or nice polo. Consider wearing a tie. This is optional. Tuck in your shirt tail- this is NOT optional. Don’t Arrive barefoot. Dress shoes are recommended. Forget to tuck in your shirt tail.

Friendly Reminders Do: Do Not: Meet in the small milling area at 6:30 Remember, the ceremony begins at 7:00 Do Not: Be late! Bring your cell phone. Take selfies… Oh wait, you shouldn’t have a cell phone.

Friendly Reminders Do: Do Not: Plan to stay for the reception afterwards in the large milling area. (This is the best time for picture taking) Do Not: Wear your sunglasses to the ceremony. Chew gum.

Let’s Review…

Girls What is wrong with this outfit? Bare shoulders That dress is WAY too short No high heels are allowed (Really, Barbie? It was in bold print) She looks like she’s in the circus, not NJHS.

Guys What is wrong with this outfit? Why would you need sunglasses in a dark auditorium? Oh…wait, you don’t. No collar? No buttons? Don’t wear it! Shorts? Seriously? Don’t tell me those are tennis shoes…
