Water Efficient Plumbing Fixtures Required: Kitchen Remodel Tip Sheet Electrical Notes: Minimum two (2) - 20 amp dedicated kitchen counter circuits are required. All kitchen counter receptacles shall be GFCI-protected and protected by Arc Fault Dishwashers, garbage disposals, trash compactors, built-in microwave ovens, and kitchen lighting shall be on their own circuits. Dishwashers must be GFCI protected Multi-wire duplex receptacles for garbage disposals and dishwashers require tie-bars at the service panel breaker Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms shall be installed on the ceiling or wall (in all sleeping rooms, each area/hallway adjacent to sleeping rooms, each story of the building, and in any basement. Lighting Efficiency: All lighting fixtures shall be controlled by either a dimmer switch or by a vacancy sensor switch that requires a manual on activation (does not automatically turn on) and automatically turns off within 30 minutes after the room is vacated.
