National Language There are two main languages which are Finnish and Swedish. In Finnish Good morning is “Hvyaa Houmante” In Swedish Thank you all is “ Tack Alla”

Festivals Christmas: Finnish people believe that Santa Claus or Father Christmas lives in the north part of Finland called Korvatunturi (or Lapland), north of the Arctic Circle. People from all over the world send letters to Santa Claus in Finland. There is a big tourist theme park called 'Christmas Land' in the north of Finland, near to where they say that Father Christmas lives. Independence Day – 6th Dec Independence Day was first celebrated in 1917 after they got independence from Russian republic Other annual celebrations are Helsinki Festival Walpurgis Night Forces of light festival

Traditional clothes The national clothing in Finland is very bright, colorful and interesting. Usually traditional Finnish costumes are rather warm because the weather in the Northern Europe is severe and cold. A lot of accessories in Finnish clothing are made of leather and metals, bright embroidery and beautiful silk fabric used for decoration.

Traditional Food Coffee is their national drink. Karelian pasty Lingonberries are common throughout Finland.

Traditional food Pulla bread – sweet cardamom flavoured bread eaten with coffee or as dessert. Cinnamon roll (korvapuustit) roll of cinnamon and sugar. Ronttonen pastry with lingonberry filling. Fazer sininen milk chocolate.
