Grants Management Update DATA / FFATA US Congressional Legislation Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) - 2006 Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA) – 2014 (expansion of FFATA) Information on federal expenditures more easily accessible and transparent Common standards for reporting Goal of these laws is to improve the ability to track and understand how the USG is spending tax dollars Present , past, future Technology and accountability

Grants Management-Discussion Points Impact Challenges Collaborative solutions Impact Systems in place now that are demanding greater accountability of federal funds These systems are leading toward linking up outcomes too Opportunity for jurisdictions to assess current processes and perhaps consider some retooling to get ahead of this fast moving train Challenges With grants management within jurisdictions, FP, manual draw down, funding not awarded With perceptions - unobligated, not applying for funds, What are the challenges from the jurisdictions perspectives, unpack these, Solutions Working toward the overall goal - Effective execution of USG funds is an important advocacy tool, changing practice, changing lives Confidence from funders will increase and could result in additional program funding, Training is always needed Beyond training, how can PIHOA can implement a systems approach, quality improvement approach, defining clear roles and responsibilities Grants management unit -
