A little bit about me... Enter some info about yourself here – name, job title, company etc… Feel free to add your picture

Why am I here? I’m here because there’s something not quite right in my industry, and I’ll explain what in just a few moments.

But first, here are some stats about the UK haulage industry

But first, here are some stats about the UK haulage industry £74 billion industry 498,000 trucks UKs fifth largest industry 1.8 million jobs 600,000 HGV drivers If you bought it we brought it - trucks carry 85% of the UK’s goods By 2022 the UK’s logistics industry needs to recruit another 1.2 million people… and that’s why we’re here today.

But there’s also another reason But there’s also another reason. What % of the UK haulage industry workforce do you think are men? A B C D 62 72 82 92

Amazingly it’s 92% - so only 8% of the 1 Amazingly it’s 92% - so only 8% of the 1.2million UK haulage industry workforce are women! D 92

And what % of HGV drivers do you think are under 25 years old? B C D 1 10 15 22

Yep – only 1% of the UK’s 600,000 drivers are under 25!

That’s why I’m here We need to attract young people into our industry to help fill our 1.2million shortage And there are more jobs available than you might realise

Career opportunities – there are more than you might think…
