Homework is at the discretion of the individual teacher and classroom. All Kindergarten Teachers will assign for the students to read 15-20 minutes nightly.

MAC Money System (pennies/nickels) Reward Positive Behavior If a student has not lost more than 5 coins all week they may participate in Fun Friday activities in the classroom.

When we walk to Munn Park we will notify you.

Chaperone guidelines are on our websites for you to print, sign and return to your child’s teacher if you are a chaperone. Chaperones must be an approved volunteer. *Deadline- Sept. 29th

Lunch Times for Kindergarten Lunch: Please work with your child at home to use good table manners, practice opening their own drinks & food containers, to clean up their own trash. As of August 21st you may have lunch with your child in the cafeteria. We ask that you only have your child sit with you in the designated area. Please do not bring any outside food for your child. MAC TIME School wide we will have MAC time from 8:25-8:55am. Kindergarten will be starting August 28th. This time is used for additional differentiated Reading instruction.

Please have your child at school every day. If you need to schedule doctor appointments please try to do this outside of school hours. New policy will be for you to keep your child’s medical notes rather than turn them into the office or teacher. If your child does not attend 50% of a school day, he/she will be marked absent. (page 3) You will be required to sign your child out in the agenda when your child is checking out or tardy. No checkouts after 2:30 pm

Please make sure you have filled out a volunteer form. A new form MUST be filled out each school year. All volunteer forms are due by September 29th.

Standard Based Grading is as follows: 4 – Proficient 3 – Developing Progess 2 – Beginning Progress 1 – Of Concern

McKeel Academy Central assessments are now all standard based assessments with a grading system of a 4, 3, 2, or 1. We communicate the formative and summative assessments through the weekly portfolio. We will be scheduling parent/teacher portfolio conferences towards the end of the 1st nine weeks.
