Olmsted Falls Marching Band Disney Trip 2017 February 16th- February 21st

MEMORIES!!!

Our Trip Students will only miss 1 day of school We will perform at a Disney Park Watch Broadway/Disney designed musicals Enjoy street musicians Learn about the profession Learn how to be a pro-performer from Disney Performing Arts Meals, friends, and lots of awesome Memories!

Band Code of Conduct ----Band members will conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen, always representing the city and school district of Olmsted Falls. Any emergency situations will immediately be brought to the attention of the directors. Band members will display professional behavior while performing, rehearsing, and traveling. *Playing instruments only happens when requested. Band members will treat uniforms with care and follow the uniform guidelines. Band members will respect the requests of adults at all times. Band members will work as a team. Band members will make a commitment to excellence.

Travel Guidelines People are watching you! Please be aware that you are representing your school with dignity at all times. “Better than school” dress code will be advised. One soft suitcase and one small carry-on bag. Each student is responsible for his or her uniform, instrument, and luggage. Students will follow bus rules The buses will stop every 2-3 hours.

Travel Guidelines (con’t) Students will follow all of the rules at the hotel: Lights out will occur 30 minutes after it is time to report to rooms. Students are only allowed IN THEIR OWN rooms. Chaperones will conduct room and luggage checks. Students will remain in their rooms until the morning wake-up call. Students ARE NOT permitted to make any charges to their rooms, or damage them in any way. Cell phones may be taken at night and returned in the morning by the chaperones. No amenities will be allowed to be accessed unless specified by their directors. Students must stay in their rooms once checked in. Each student must be on time to all check-ins. Students must stay in groups of four at all times. DO NOT WANDER OFF ALONE! Absolutely no smoking, alcohol, or any other illegal substances will be tolerated. You will be sent home immediately at your own expense if you do not adhere to this rule. This is very serious and will also require legal action by the school.

Trip Cost Includes Performance at Walt Disney World Deluxe motor coach transportation (56 passengers) 3 night hotel accommodations at Comfort Suites 3 continental breakfasts at the hotel Breakfast, lunch/or some dinners provided during travel Vouchers for meals at parks so you choose  3-day Park Hopper Tickets (visiting 3, possibly 4 parks) Performance: March in parade, possibly a workshop Private nighttime supervision/security (provided by Nowak) and company manager from departure to return

Chaperone Application The chaperones for this trip will have a very important and vital role. Chaperones must apply and be selected If not selected we encourage you to travel with us to Florida as a band family to support your student Chaperones are responsible for their groups the entire trip The number of chaperones needed will depend on the number of students attending Chaperones must be at least 25 Chaperones must cover their trip costs ($835 for a quad) We would love to have medical professional(s)/or teachers as chaperones too

Disney Performance We had to audition and be selected in order to obtain a performing opportunity at Disney. The expectation that Disney has for our group is to perform as talented, mature high school musicians playing with professionalism for the performance. We have been SELECTED and will perform The performance time and Location are TBA by Disney performing Arts. Students will experience what it is like to perform as a professional musician and a Disney Cast Member.

Why Travel? Students will experience what it is like to be a professional musician for a day with mature expectations for performers Amazing bonding experience with band members Students learn fiscal responsibility, independence, and cooperative skills Professional music experiences, marching bands, concerts, shows, and musicals. We get to represent Olmsted Falls Band Program at Disney. With months of hard work becoming well trained musicians in different genres and different ensembles. Our students have earned this honor and selection. Students will grow as a band and build memories that will last for a lifetime!

Some students have money already in student account! Fundraising We will offer 4 fundraisers for student accounts 1.) Coupon Book –Students earn $8-10 per book -beginning in Sept. (ish) 2.) Butter Braids Early Sept. (ish) 3.) Cookie Dough and Cheese- Students earn $5-8 per item -beginning Oct. (ish) 3.) Pretzel rods – I Believe the profit is 50% (not positive) - beginning Nov. (ish) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Some students have money already in student account! It is recommended, to also try fundraising on your own. You may try contacting relatives or friends who may need chores completed. This is a great chance to learn to manage money responsibly!
