Graduation Requirements 4 English 1 Fine Arts 4 Math 2 Foreign Language 3 Science 3 CTE Academy Pathway Focus 3 Social Studies 0.5 Personal Finance 6 Electives 1 Lifetime Wellness Take the ACT or SAT 0.5 PE Take Civics test in Gov’t class 28 Credits To Graduate

Grade Level Promotion 10th Grader – Student must be in their 2nd year of high school 11th Grader – Student must be in their 3rd year of high school 12th Grader – Student must be in their 4th year of high school and also have earned at least 24 total credits

Graduating with honors Regular Diploma with Honors In order to graduate with a Regular Diploma with Honors, students must satisfy all requirements for a regular diploma AND score at or above all of the following ACT subject area readiness benchmarks (or equivalent SAT scores).  Acceptable scores may be used from more than one ACT test. ACT SAT * English 18  * SAT Benchmark – 1550 * Math 22  * 11th grade PSAT – 142 * Science 23  * 10th grade PSAT – 133 * Reading 22 * 8th grade ReadiStep – 11.8

To graduate “with Distinction” Meet all requirements for regular diploma, earn a GPA of 85 or higher, AND complete one of the following: Nationally recognized industry certification Participate in one of the Governor’s Schools Participate in an All State musical organization Participate in Boys or Girls State Attain an ACT composite score of 31 or higher Score a 3 or higher on 2 or more AP exams Earn 12 or more hours of college credit (example: Dual Enrollment) Be a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist Meet requirements for TN Scholar Vanderbilt School for Science & Math graduate Cambridge diploma

Should I take Advanced academic classes? If you are breezing through a class with an A, or maybe a high B, and you want to be more challenged and work at a faster pace next year, you should consider taking an advanced level course Talk to your current teachers about what they recommend These classes are MORE challenging and require more homework, so only choose them if you are willing to work hard from August to May If you’ve never taken an advanced level class, but to want to, we recommend starting with 1 or 2 Advanced Academic level classes in your strongest subject areas

More Dual Enrollment information What are the early post secondary options available to me: Dual Enrollment English III/English IV (6 college credit hours) Dual Enrollment History-TN History/Ancient History (6 college credit hours) To register for dual enrollment courses, students must apply to the post-secondary institution. Dual enrollment requirements include: Completed application (including a current HS transcript) Minimum 19 ACT sub-score in specific subject area; or pass Compass/university enrollment test; or meet requirements of institution Permission from high school principal and parent/guardian.
