Sports Premium and SSP Statement

Sport Premium Schools with primary-aged pupils will receive the primary PE and sport premium for the 2015 to 2016 academic year on the same basis as last year. First instalments will be paid to local authorities on behalf of local-authority-maintained schools on 29 October 2015 and to academies on 2 November 2015.

Sport Premium Funding You should not use your funding to: VISION A measurable and sustained improvement in school PE and sport, underpinned by high-quality teaching that increases participation levels in physical activity, and leads to healthier pupils who are more engaged across the whole curriculum. This will be our legacy to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. You should not use your funding to: employ coaches or specialist teachers to cover planning preparation and assessment (PPA) arrangements - these should come out of your core staffing budgets teach the minimum requirements of the national curriculum - including those specified for swimming (or, in the case of academies and free schools, to teach your existing PE curriculum).

Sport Premium Funding For detailed information visit: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pe-and-sport-premium-for-primary schools Maintained schools, including those that convert to academies, must publish information about their use of the premium on their website by 4 April 2016. Schools should publish the amount of premium received; a full breakdown of how it has been spent (or will be spent); what impact the school has seen on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment and how the improvements will be sustainable in the future. Schools should also consider how their use of the premium is giving pupils the opportunity to develop a healthy, active lifestyle.
