Lesson Preparation Materials: 1 lightbulb 1 black sock (large enough to completely cover lightbulb) **COVER lightbulb with black sock BEFORE coming to teach children**

Lesson Preparation Lightbulb represents friends of Jesus who are walking in the light Black sock represents sinners who are living in darkness

BEFORE beginning lesson: SHOW children the lightbulb covered by the black sock. EXPLAIN that the black sock represents a sinner who is still in darkness and doing bad things such as disobeying mommy and daddy, watching bad movies, playing bad games and fighting.

BEFORE beginning lesson: 3. EXPLAIN that for a sinner to come out of darkness and stop doing bad things, he must become a friend of Jesus. 4. REMOVE black sock from lightbulb. 5. EXPLAIN that a child can only walk in the light once s/he has repented and accepted Jesus Christ into his/her heart.

Our Bible reading shows us two types of people: 1. SINNERS who are living in darkness 2. FRIENDS OF JESUS who are walking in the light

Darkness is the opposite of light.

Children who are doing bad things are in darkness Children who are doing bad things are in darkness. Satan is the Father of ALL evil. fighting stealing lying

Are you still doing bad things Are you still doing bad things? Jesus is calling you today to come out of darkness and into the light.

Take these steps today to become a friend of Jesus: Tell Jesus that you are sorry. Ask Jesus to forgive and wash you clean with His blood. Receive Jesus into your heart by faith and make Jesus your Master and Lord. PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS!!! PUSH

A friend of Jesus will now live a new life and have the fruits of the Holy Spirit in his heart.

There are many blessings for children who have the new life. LET US PRAY!!!

Lesson: Friends of Jesus are to put off the old life and live in newness of life. Thought: I will live the new life to be a good example to others.
