Introduction Cambodia border with Lao PDR to the northeast, Thailand to the north and west, Vietnam to the east and south and Gulf of Thailand to the Southeast 181,035 kilometer square 25 provinces/Municipality 196 districts 1,623 communes 13,864 villages Estimated population 14 million people

Livestock production Livestock plays a dual role in addressing the increasing demand of an expanding population for animal products as well as in achieving the Millennium Development Goal of poverty reduction and food security Animal production is also a source of savings for Cambodian farmers Animal population in Cambodia, 2014: Cattles: 3.06 million Buffalo: 0.54 million Swine: 2.74 million which 86% is back yard production Poultry: 31.59 million which 81% is back yard production

Disease Control National strategies for disease control Vaccination Veterinary measures

I. National strategies for animal disease control The national strategy for FMD control has been developed by OIE support. The national strategies for ND, CSF and PRRS are being developed by EU support. National strategy frameworks for Animal Health and Production is being developed.
