SWFR Heat Shrink Tubing What’s new? TE is introducing a new single wall tubing product meeting requirements for application across many industries. SWFR Single wall tubing product meeting the stringent requirements of UL 224 VW-1 flammability and CSA OFT rating Electrically insulates, mechanically protects, strain relieves and is highly flame retardant Shrinks at a low temperature for fast installation 2:1 shrink ratio with many different sizes offered Thin wall (X2) and very thin wall (X4) types Zerohal tubing -- essentially free of halogens Very flexible We are pleased to introduce this new, highly flame retardant, single wall heat shrink tubing product. This product meets the stringent flammability requirements of UL VW-1 and CSA OFT. SWFR tubing electrically insulates, mechanically protects and strain relieves, and it is highly flame retardant. This tubing shrinks at a low temperature for fast installation. Its shrink ration is 2:1, and it is offered in a range of sizes. Both thin wall (X2) and very thin wall (X4) types are available. A Zerohal tubing product, SWFR is essentially free of halogens. This means the tubing will emit minimal toxic/acidic gases during combustion, a critical consideration when the product is used in confined spaces. Per industry standards, materials such this that are classified as halogen-free may still contain trace amounts of halogens. For example, IEC 61249-2-21 permits the term halogen-free to be used for materials containing as much as 1500 PPM of halogens. SWFR tubing is also very flexible for easy application of harnesses that have been made using this product.

SWFR Heat Shrink Tubing Installation Easily installed using one of TE’s hot air heating tools commonly referred to as heat guns (hand held or bench mounted) Can also be installed using a variety of more elaborate TE application equipment, such as tunnel ovens and belt heaters, typically reserved for high-volume production environments SWFR tubing is designed to be quickly and easily applied. For low volume requirements, a hot air heating tool, referred to as a heat gun, can be used in either a hand held or bench mounted mode. TE offers several different models of heat guns as well as accessories to direct the airflow and reflect the heat. The tubing is slipped over the wiring or component to which it is to be applied, and the heat is then applied to the tubing. When SWFR tubing is heated, is shrinks and conforms to the shape of the substrate to which it is applied. To support high volume production requirements, TE offers a broad line of more elaborate heating equipment for application of heat shrink tubing. Heat Guns Tunnel Oven
