TDF-2 Research Facility: Proposal Evaluation Results For presentation at a TDF-2 PEC Meeting on April 2, 2014 By Mana Southichack, Ph.D. International Research Advisor (on behalf of the Proposal Review Panel)

Research Proposals Submitted This presentation provides a summary of research proposals submitted and research proposal evaluation results Proposals are separated into two groups according to funding allocation

Eligibility Requirements for Submission Eligible Applicants: Researchers affiliated with Government institutions Academic institutions Nonprofit organizations Foreign academic or nonprofit institutions Must cooperate with at least one domestic institution * Researchers not affiliated with the above institutional categories are allowed to participate as consultants in proposals submitted by the above institutions. Joint cooperative proposal is encouraged (domestic-domestic or domestic-foreign)

Eligibility Requirements for Submission Eligible Topics: All proposals are required to be policy relevant to support the Lao government and MoIC's priorities on trade and integration at large, following these four thematic areas: (i) The impact of trade agreements on Lao PDR; (ii) Non tariff measures and market access constraints; (iii) Diversification;  (iv) Multi-sector trade issues (trade and gender, trade and poverty, trade and the environment, equity and distributional impact, lagging regions). Maximum funding: USD 50,000 per project Consideration of the funding amount for each proposal is based on the proposed work, personnel and other relevant requirements necessary for the proposed study.
