Question Six What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product.

Lighting Equipment During the making of our film we used high quality lighting that we had to put up and take down when filming. Niha owned the lighting and showed me how to assemble the lights and umbrellas around the light, without breaking the delicate bulbs. She also told me what each bit of the light is for and how it helps make the film look better.

Final Cut Pro X In the post production part of the construction, we used Final Cut Pro. We had only ever used this in our preliminary task, however we had to change the lighting as we had filmed the shots on different days when the lighting had been different, we had to work out how to make the clips darker and we had to use the trial and error method to make all the screens have the same lighting.

Question Seven Looking back at the preliminary task, what do we think we have learnt in the progression from it to the full production

Final Cut Pro X In the full product we used final cut as a much larger proportion of the construction in this task than in the preliminary, we used a lot more of the different editing techniques for example the lighting or adding the music into the beginning of our film, we had not yet learnt or used that as that was not needed in our preliminary task.

Different Shots In the preliminary task, the film was a lot shorter, meaning it took less time to film, less angles, less shots and less editing. However when making the final film we realised that we had to take a lot more shots for one scene, for example when Kate’s character gets out of bed, we filmed from outside the room, inside the room and when she gets the torch we filmed a scene from inside the drawers.
