“Weak but Strong on Earth” Isaiah 53:10-12 11/11/2012 Dr. Dane Boyles

Isaiah 52:10 10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,     and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days,     and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.

Acts 2:23 23 This Man, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God.

Acts 4:27-28 27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.

Genesis 2:22 2 Take now your son, your only son, the one whom you love, Isaac.

2 Samuel 18:33 33 O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Would I had died instead of you, O Absalom, my son, my son!

Isaiah 54:1 1 “Sing, O barren woman,  you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy,     you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman     than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord.

Galatians 3:29 29 if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise.

Acts 2:24 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Acts 2:27-28 27 because you will not abandon me to the grave,     nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’

Isaiah 53:11 11 After the suffering of his soul,     he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,     and he will bear their iniquities.

Romans 5:18-19 18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Isaiah 53:12 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,     and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death,     and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many,     and made intercession for the transgressors.

Luke 23:34 34 But Jesus was saying, ‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing’.

Acts 2:37 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Acts 2:38 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:41 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Zechariah 12:10 10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

Zechariah 12:12 12 The land will mourn, each clan by itself, with their wives by themselves: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives,

Isaiah 52:15a 15a so many nations will marvel at him, .

Isaiah 66:2b 2b “This is the one I esteem:     he who is humble and contrite in spirit,     and trembles at my word.
