Welcome to Central Magnet School Mrs. Fluharty 7th grade Math Integrated I Math

About Mrs. Fluharty Originally from Charleston, SC Graduated from Furman University with a B.S. in Elementary Education Earned a Master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Converse College Entering my 10th year teaching and 3rd year here at Central Magnet Have taught every grade from 3-8 Husband manages the Regions on the square Have two children: Greta Kate (5) and Denver (3) Love working out, spending time with my family, and college football!! Student Council and MS Cheer sponsor

Dress Code Shorts or skirts must be finger tip length NO low cut tops- undergarments should not be visible Leggings are acceptable IF the top is finger tip length Holes in jeans must below finger tips NO off shoulder tops/dresses/ blouses

Supply list Binder with paper (lined and graph) Pens and pencils Colored pencils/markers Highlighters (not yellow) 2 Composition books (will be used for notes) Scissors, glue sticks, etc. will be used occasionally ruler AGENDA is KEY to success! (writing down assignments for EVERY class EVERY day)

7th grade Math curriculum Ready TN Core Math 7 (also 8 for accelerated) Carnegie Learning for Int. I Consumable workbooks with online access iReady will be utilized…more to come… TN Ready & Int. 1 Testing Window: April 16-May 4 Contract—Int. 1 only Syllabus will be distributed Wednesday. Please review, sign, and return by Friday.

Grading policies Homework/Classwork Policy 5-20 Points each Homework will be given almost daily. These assignments are to ensure understanding and mastery of skills and are usually discussed in the next class meeting. Homework/Classwork will include textbook assignments, handouts, and reading assignments. Completed assignments are expected on time, either the next class meeting or the given due date. Late work will receive a grade no more than 80% of the earned score for correctness and completion. All late work must be submitted no later than five days following a chapter test. Homework will be assigned a score 0-5 based on both completion and correctness using the guidelines below. Quizzes 10-30 points each Quizzes will be given throughout each chapter. Quizzes will include short writing assignments to explain a process or solution and small sets of problems from a specific topic.

Grading policies Tests--100 points each Students should expect three or four tests each grading period. Projects--50-100 points each Project assignments are made 7-14 days prior to due date. Projects will be accepted on the due date given. Total points system Late work will receive a score of no more than 80% of the earned grade. Remediation—If a teacher requests a student for remediation, the student must report to that teacher…It is not optional! Extra Help- before school; 5th period; Tiger Time; by appointment Missing Work—posted on the board for daily reminders. Students will receive a 0 for any assignment that is not turned in within a week following a unit test. Absences—Students should check the website daily, especially if they are absent. It is the student’s responsibility to ask for missed assignments, and they have five days from their return to submit make-up work. +3 points for Int. 1 added at the beginning of grading period
