What is Bruschetta? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1gJi5ztKt0

Bruschetta is an antipasto from Italy consisting of grilled bread rubbed with garlic  and topped with variations that may include toppings of tomato, vegetables, beans, cured meat, or cheese; the most popular recipe outside of Italy involves basil, fresh tomato, garlic  and onion or mozzarella. Bruschetta is usually served as a snack or appetizer.

Seasonal Bruschetta design brief Our school café is looking to introduce a new and original healthy and seasonal bruschetta to sell to staff and students. To add a vegetarian source of protein to the bruschetta, designs have to include a legume dip component. This dip will go onto the toasted bread and the seasonal vegetables then layered on top. We are looking for creativity and color variation in the choice of both vegetables and the way the vegetables are cooked, and/or cut and prepared(remember the way a vegetable is sliced can greatly effect the visual appeal) You are being asked to use at least two different vegetables preferably one cooked and one raw and at least one fresh herb. ** SET UP A GOOGLE DOC/ or keynote and COPY and PASTE this brief

What vegetables are in season? Google: Vegetables in season in Victoria Visit this site to find out what vegetables and herbs are currently in season in Victoria In a table group brainstorm ideas for how you could prepare these vegetables to make them taste good and be interesting? Vegetable and herbs in season how would you use this How would you prepare this

You must prepare an individual production plan for your Bruschetta Design. You will need to add the How to make the Dip And the toppings. Its important that you pick the correct level and use the following production format as a template to create your own recipe. A production plan allows you to record information about choices and decisions you have to make while making the recipe ( production), including any modification made. For example, if certain ingredients were unavailable, or if you had to make any alterations to the recipe during production, to see if you are able to complete the recipe in the time allocated.

The Dip Using the link on the weebly under recipe: ‘Legume Love: Three Bean Dip Recipes’ Pick one of the three dips(you will need to adjust the quantities, ½ can legumes is adequate for 2 brushettas): Denise’s white bean dip Spicy black bean dip Hummus

The toppings You need to pick two vegetables from your brainstorm that are going to go well together How will you cook and prepare these? What herb will you use? NOW ADD IT INTO THE GOOGLE DOC order

Production Task Individual production plans are important part of food technology. Complete a production plan Including Dip recipe Toppings Bread A production plan- There are no recipes given on day so you must have this ready A picture of final presentation of product.

Now look at examples of a production plan to see what information you need. See the weebly for templates
