The 5 senses The Sense of Sight By: Tracy Rodriguez October 5, 2010 Sing a Song of Senses (Sung to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell”) We use our tongues to taste. We use out tongues to taste. We taste the flavors in our food. We use our ears to hear. We hear noises loud and soft. We use our eyes to see. We see colors all around. We use our noses to smell. We smell flowers and perfume. We use our hands to touch. We touch things both smooth and rough. The 5 senses http://www.isaiahspigner.com/?p=11 We have 2 eyes and we use them to see. Things might look: shiny, sparkly, pretty, striped, speckled, colorful or dull. It’s fun to play “I Spy” with 1 or more friends. One person says: “I spy something that is a certain color. Your friends have to guess what object you are thinking about. Take turns giving clues and guessing. http://picsicio.us/keyword/the%20five%20sense By: Tracy Rodriguez October 5, 2010 Sometimes people use glasses or magnifying glasses to help them see better. http://deepbluetide.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/we-are-special/ http://science.pppst.com/sight.html

Our nose helps us to taste our food. The Sense of Hearing The Sense of Smell The Sense of Touch Our nose helps us to taste our food. http://www.inmagine.com/paa333/paa333000004-photo http://www.stockphotopro.com/photo_of/hair/3622463ZKQ/girl_putting_hand_on We have 1 nose and we use it to smell. http://www.ngps-ltd.co.uk/Default.aspx?pagename=Advice-on-Energy-saving We have 2 ears and we use them to hear. We might smell things that are: sweet, sour, stinky or fruity. We have 2 hands, 2 feet and our skin. We use them to touch and feel things. We might hear sounds that are loud, soft, high, low, noisy or quiet. http://www.clipartof.com/gallery/clipart/noses.html The Sense of Taste A Fun Activity to try: Make scented playdough by adding kool-aid instead of food coloring. Yumm…. It smells so good 1! Don’t eat it though! Things might feel: hard, soft, smooth, rough, cold or wet. A fun game to play is “Noise Hide and Seek.” One person counts to 10 while their friends go and hide with a bell, whistle or something that makes noise. The “seeker” must use their ears to listen closely to the sounds his or her friends are making and find them. Have someone put some items in a bag for you. Without looking, see if you can guess what it is by how it feels. Does it feel smooth, rough, hard, soft, wet or cold? http://www.fotolia.com/id/6007411 Play “Guess the taste” with your friend. One person closes their eyes and tries to guess the name of the food and if it’s sweet, sour, salty or bitter. We might taste things that are: sweet, sour, salty and bitter. We have 1 tongue and we use it to taste. http://idahoptv.org/dialogue4kids/season10/senses/resources.cfm http://www.stickershoppe.com/sticker-shop/catalog/S2405.html freefootballclipart.sultaninfo.com
