Three Core Functions of Support How We Do It

Our Partners More than 200 partners work together to impact our community The needs of nearly 21,000 people with disabilities were met through housing, job training or other means More than 14,000 people were served after disasters More than 11,000 people received mental health counseling More than 104,000 children had a safe place to go after school or during the summer

Allocation Partner Agencies During 2016, United Way allocated: $9,402,000 (33%) for Health, $8,832,000 (31%) for Education, $3,704,000 (13%) for Financial Stability and… $6,553,000 (23%) for Access to Services.

Meeting Immediate Needs Key results from Direct Services: Re-housed 730 homeless veterans through Priority Veteran Volunteers helped prepare more than 3,500 tax returns generating more than $2.5MM Connected more than 25,000 callers to services via 211

Starting to See Measurable Results Key results for 2016: The % of adults who smoke in Jefferson County decreased by 19% between 2013 and 2016 In Walker County, access to first class Pre-K increased to 16.4% from 2.4% More than 50% of high school seniors in 5-county area completed forms to qualify for federal scholarships 9 out of 10 kids who complete these forms enroll in college.

Starting to See Measurable Results Key results for 2016: 3rd grade math proficiency for a Blount County pilot project increased to 61% from 53% in just one year, and… We expanded feeding sites to serve more than 13,000 at-risk kids during the summer months.
