ISP PROJECT: COMPUTERS By Jose Calles

WHAT IS A COMPUTER’s PUrposE? Why were they invented? Computers were invented to perform calculations and store data.

What were the first computers like? They were big and slow. They were the size of a school gym, and had cables as thick as snakes.

HOW have they changed? They have gotten smaller and faster. Today’s computers are smarter. They changed to have a center-internal piece called a microchip, which acts as a brain. Ex- Today’s computers can have touch screen. Older computers didn’t even have access to the internet.

How does a microchip work? It is a maze of tiny tunnels that electricity flows through. The tunnels are made of a sliver of silicon.

What are computers used for today? Today, a computer’s main purpose is still to make calculations easier ,and to store information, but there are many new features, such as the internet , or touch screen. Many people today do mainly do get computers for the internet The internet relies on Wi-Fi to work.

Computer programming Computer programs are what make computers do what they have to. It is like a series of commands. There are many computer programming languages such as Java, and C++ Also, there is a basic computer programming site where you can learn how to make basic programs, such as games, called Scratch. Scratch’s Mascot

What is Wi-Fi and how does it work? Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity. For it to work, the computer must have a wireless adapter. That provides wireless connectivity by releasing occurrences between the measurements of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz) – 5GHz based on the system it is in.

Conclusion Computers have changed over the years, from giant, slow machines that could mainly just calculate to small, some even portable, smart computers that can even access the internet.
