Skype for Business: Meetings

Meeting Highlights, Policies and Options Medium 100 participants (Request in advance via SPARC) Standard 50 participants Meeting Policies DEFAULT Questions: What about meetings over 100 participants?

Meeting Highlights, Policies and Options Meeting Defaults Not replacing WebEx at this time New meeting space (unique conf. ID) No one has the wait in the Lobby Anyone from my organization is a Presenter No entry/exit announcement Participants muted on entry Audio tone & visual alert when your line is muted or unmuted Conference ID will be 7 digits or less Note: If a Skype for Business meeting was scheduled, and the meeting changes to in-person or WebEx, you will need to cancel the meeting and recreate. By default your meeting will be set up with a unique meeting space. Which means each meeting will have a unique conference ID.

Joining a Meeting Use Skype for Business Call me at: Don’t join audio Select when using a SfB or Lync-optimized headset/device Connects you to both web and audio conference Call me at: Enter phone number for the meeting to call Don’t join audio Select when dialing in from an office, mobile or Conference Room phone DO NOT check box “Don’t show this again”

Joining a Meeting from Office, Mobile or Conference Room Conference ID required when calling without a headset/device Use the ‘Find a local number’ when calling in from outside the area of the scheduled meeting. (https://dialin.gilead.com/)

Joining a Meeting from Office, Mobile or Conference Room PIN required by Organizer if: Audio Only (no authenticated user connecting to the web) To access full menu features (e.g. Mute All) Select ‘Forgot your dial-in PIN’’ to set PIN (https://dialin.gilead.com/)

Skype Audio Tips If joining a call with other attendees sitting in the same room, ensure only one computer (or the conference room phone) is dialed into the audio portion of the meeting to prevent audio feedback If you ever run into issues using your audio headset, remember you can always dial in using a traditional telephone. If joining over remote VPN and are having issues, you can always disconnect from VPN and join again over an Internet connect to improve the performance Use a SfB or Lync-optimized audio device (headset) for best audio & microphone quality experience Select audio device and test call quality prior to initiating a call Do not use Skype for Business for 911 or any other emergency calls
