Beggar’s Chicken---a legendary story telling’ a beggar one day stole a chicken and was pursued by the owner. He smeared the chicken all over with clay and threw it into the fire. While he removed the mud-coated from the fire, he found, the chicken had been baked into a delicious dish with wonderful flavor. Hence the name of the dish.
