Compared to its competitors: RigNet serves the upstream oil and gas industry worldwide No one has a larger global footprint than RigNet. In fact, RigNet has more offshore Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) installations than any other provider of rig communications. RigNet-enabled rigs operate worldwide, in environments ranging from established and accessible, to the most hostile and remote. RigNet has the operational expertise and experience to give our customers high-performance remote communications wherever their rigs take them.

Concern for the future and Competition: The overall market rig count lowered slightly in the quarter from 1,692 to 1,680 rigs. We declined as well, from 261 to 250 U.S. Land rigs served, bringing our rig share down to 14.9% in a highly-competitive market.

Moving Forward: Rignet added 2 semi-submersibles, 1 newbuild and 1 taken from competition, and added 3 drillships from the newbuild pool. So while overall offshore rig market share dropped slightly in the third quarter to 31.1% or 251 rigs served out of a market of 808 active and addressable rigs, they did improve the share of floater rigs, which is a big priority for the management team. During the quarter, we opened a new office in South Africa to place management, personnel and equipment closer to growing drilling and production activity across sub-Saharan Africa.
