West Valley High School Library LIBRARY INFORMATION AND STUDENT BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
The library is open between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., including lunch. Library Hours The library is open between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., including lunch. Students wishing to come to the library during class time are required to provide a pass from their teacher.
Behavior Expectations • Enter and exit the library in a quiet respectful manner • Provide a pass from your teacher during class times • Pass all library books to library staff prior to exiting through the alarm system • Please do not sit on the tables or counters. • Running or horse playing in the library is not allowed • All food and candy are prohibited from the library.
Behavior Expectations • A disrespectful attitude toward other students and West Valley High School staff will lead to a suspension of library privileges. • Only student aides and school staff are allowed behind the check-out counter. • Exit the library through the media checkpoint bars.
Book Check-Out Procedures Students may check out as many books at a time with a 3-week time limit. Extra time is automatically computed to not include holiday breaks. Magazines are not available for check-out.
Book Check-Out Procedures Overdue fines are not charged for late books, but library privileges are suspended on delinquent accounts. A lost book will generate a fine of the cost of the book plus a $2.00 processing fee. Damaged books may be fined a nominal fine for repair. Unpaid fines suspend library privileges until paid directly to library school staff.
