The objectives of this lesson To learn about punctuation mark. Introducing to all the punctuation marks. To learn about the uses of punctuation marks.

What is punctuation? Punctuation means the right use of putting in points or stops in writing.

THE MAIN PUNCTUATION MARKS Full stop ( . ) Comma – ( , ) Semicolon – ( ; ) Colon – ( : ) Question Mark – (? ) Exclamation Mark – (!)

The uses of punctuation marks 1. Full stop (.) a) At the ending point of all the sentences except Interrogative and Exclamatory. Beauty charms all. b) In the short features of name and abbreviation. M.A. Majid U.N.O. M.Sc. 2. Comma- (,) a) Two or more same classes words, Phrases or clauses in a sentence are identified by comma. Dipu, Nipu and Setu were absent.

Semicolon- (;) If any inter related independent clauses are not joined by conjunction, they are separated by semicolon. Mr. Akram was a Brave man; we all respect him.

Colon (:) Colon is used in a sentence for putting a larger point or stop. They are three players of Abahani: Himel, Rubel and Masum.

Question mark (?) Question mark is used at the ending point of the Interrogative sentence. Who believes a liar?

Exclamation mark (!) Exclamation mark is used after Interjection or the ending point of the exclamatory sentence. a) Alas! I am undone. b) How charming the scenery is!
