What is SCRIP? SCRIP is a Latin Term that means anything used in place of cash… with this program SCRIP means gift cards and gift certificates.

How does SCRIP work? Student Fund) Members purchase gift cards for national retailers at face value using an order form. Star of Bethlehem pays a discounted amount for the gift cards that you purchase. A portion of the purchase is given back (half in tuition benefits to you, and half to the Star Student Fund) These gift cards are exactly the same as those that you would buy direct from the retailer.

Can you give me some examples? Best Buy 3% Speedway 4% Home Depot 4% Cabela’s 11% Kohl’s 4% Texas Roadhouse 8% Chili’s 11% Buy a $100 Speedway card $2 will be credited to your tuition account and $2 will be given to the Star Student Fund. Percentages vary by retailer from 1.5% to 15% There are more than 100 stores to choose from

How much can I earn? Tuition reductions can add up just by pre-purchasing things you were going to buy anyway. Ask grandparents or friends to support the Star SCRIP program and their profits can be directed to your tuition account as well.

How much can WE earn together? There is a huge potential for boosting the Star Student Fund if we work together… Imagine if we could get just 50 families to support this program with the purchase of gas and groceries as shown in the earlier example: 50 families * ($417) = $20,850 …and there is potential for much more with all of your participation! It would be an incredible blessing if we could offer this as tuition assistance for our families in need!

How can I utilize SCRIP? Take advantage of purchases you are going to make anyway. Buy the gift cards for yourself and use for everyday purchases. Purchase to give as a gift.

How do I place an order? Fill out an order form and place it in your family folder with your cash or check payment (payable to Star of Bethlehem). All of the individual orders are compiled every two weeks (weekly near Christmas), submitted to Great Lakes SCRIP on a Monday and the cards arrive that Thursday. You can choose to have your orders sent home in the family folder or pick them up in Mrs. Cain’s room between 2:30-2:45 on Friday.

How do I place an order? New! Place an order on-line and receive more options!! You will choose a username and password Enter the enrollment code (3L98AD1F29L57) that has been assigned to Star of Bethlehem. Place your order and make your payment for the cards. For future purchases certain cards can simply be reloaded, making it more convenient for you since you won’t have to wait for the card to arrive.
