Brief AmericaView History 1998: OhioView was pilot program; funded by NASA Ohio Congressman Regula helped push the program OhioView worked with the USGS to establish infrastructure to support routine acquisition, processing, and delivery of Landsat and other remotely sensed data to state user community 2000: Congress instructed USGS to begin implementing vision nationwide; AmericaView Program was born

AmericaView http://www.americaview.org/ Nationwide program focused on remote sensing image data and spatial technologies to support K-16 education, workforce development, technology transfer and applied research. AmericaView (AV) Consortium comprised of 40 university-led, state-based consortia working together to build a nationwide network of state and local users. Each state-view implements the programs that best fits the needs of the state. AV supports many uses of remotely sensed data through education, outreach, research & data sharing among AmericaView members.
