Phase I Neuropsychological Sample: USA

Progress on Current Neuropsychological Testing Five children have received the full battery thus far: 3 Plains FASD, 2 controls in ABQ. We are working to expedite referrals of FASD children at UNM and Albuquerque Public Schools. Problems have occurred. ADHD children are to be recruited In Albuquerque via CDD and newspaper advertisements. Four clinics for full battery testing of children (FASD and controls) are scheduled for Jan – April, 2009.

Update on Other Projects: Separately-Funded Projects FASER – Plains Wind down sites by April 30th. Great Falls in-school screening III by May 30th. FASER – South Africa Prevention program in full operation: Universal through Indicated levels underway. 17 staff and collaborators in place at University of Stellenbosch and Univ. of Cape Town. Wellington IV dysmorphology completed, maternal interviews and psych. Testing will be completed by case conference in March, 2009. BRAM I in 48 schools to be started in the final 2 weeks of March.

Future Themes of CIFASD Example of PASS: history and approach. Public health model and questions driven. Epidemiology as a vehicle. Clinical concerns as a more definite focus. CBPR - Questions should emanate from concerns of the citizen and specific population groups (e.g. diagnosis, prevention, intervention, and habilitation). CBPS/CRS - Answers should as much as possible address the above concerns and be translated as much as possible to the above concerns.
