Step Two: Completing the MSJC Application It’s as easy as 1-2-3! Welcome back! Our next step will be to complete Step Two, the MSJC Application.

Before beginning the MSJC application you MUST have the following information ready: Your OpenCCC Username and Password Personal Email Address Date of Birth Current Phone Number Zip Code Social Security Number (SSN) Only if you did not enter your SSN on your OpenCCC Account Before beginning the MSJC Application, you must have the following information ready: Your OpenCCC Username and Password, Personal Email Address, Date of Birth, Current Phone Number, Zip Code, Social Security Number. If you entered your Social Security Number on your OpenCCC Account when you created it, you will not need it at this time.

Click on the “Apply Now” button on the MSJC Homepage at www.msjc.edu Click on the red Apply Now button on the www.msjc.edu homepage.

Click on the red “Apply Now” button a second time You will be taken to a different page and asked to click on the red Apply Now button a second time.

To access your OpenCCC Account click on the blue “Sign In” button Click on the Sign In button to begin the application process. To sign in, you will need to have your OpenCCC Username and Password.

Enter your Username and Password If you forgot your OpenCCC Apply Username and Password click on the blue “Forgot?” tab If you cannot remember your Username you must be able to provide personal information to find your account If you forgot your Password you will need to know your Username in order to retrieve your Password Enter your Username and Password for OpenCCC. If you need to, refer to your notes, or cell phone picture, to remember your Username and Password. Forgot your OpenCCC Apply Username and Password? Click on the blue “Forgot?” tab. If you cannot remember your Username you must be able to provide personal information to find your account. You will need to know your Username in order to retrieve your Password. Quick Tip: Refer to your notes, or cell phone picture, to remember your OpenCCC Account Username and Password.

Click on the blue “Start A New Application” button Check the “Yes” box to copy information from your OpenCCC Account directly into your MSJC Application. Then click the “Start A New Application” button. Quick Tip: Check the “Yes” button to copy the information from your OpenCCC Account directly into your MSJC Application.

Click on the blue “Start Application” button a second time Quick Tip: Review “Help Using this Application” information before starting. Click on the blue “Start Application” a second time. Choose Term Applying For (i.e. Fall, Spring, Summer) Quick Tip: When reviewing the major and program choices, you will see the option of “B” or “C”. An option “B” is for those interested in transferring to a CSU. An option “C” is for those interested in transferring to a UC. This selection can be changed at anytime. Now you will enter enrollment information for Mt. San Jacinto College. Choose the most recent term you can. Select, from the pull-down menu, your Intended Major or Program of Study. Do not select “Undecided”. When reviewing the major and program choices, you will see the option of “B” or “C”. An option “B” is for those interested in transferring to a CSU. An option “C” is for those interested in transferring to a UC. This selection, as well as your major, can be changed at anytime. Decide on your Educational Goal. Choose either an Associates Degree, Certificate, or Associates Degree w/transfer to a four year university. Click on the “Save” button as you go though the application.

Make sure to review your OpenCCC Account Information for accuracy Quick Tip: If you were unable to add your SSN to your OpenCCC Account you may add it now by clicking on the “Edit Account” button above. This tab will require you review your contact information. If you were unable to add your Social Security Number, or need to update or change your contact information, you may do so now by clicking on the “Edit Account” button in the upper, right-hand corner. Be sure to click on the “Save” button before continuing to the next section.

Enter Personal Information in this section Using the pull down menu choose your gender and then verify all information below. Please read the statements carefully, in most cases none of these statements will apply to you, thus click the “None of the statements above is true about me” bottom. Quick Tip: If you do not know the Educational Levels of your Parent or Guardian you may select “Unknown”. Select the appropriate box below Quick Tip: You may check one or more boxes if applicable. Select your race. You may check one or more boxes if applicable.

Select College Enrollment Status Quick Tip: From the pull down menu for College Enrollment Status, you must select “Enrolled in High School and College At the Same Time”. From the pull down menu for College Enrollment Status, you must select “Enrolled in High School and College At the Same Time”.

Select College Education Level Choose your College Education level, in most cases, as a high school student, if you have not previously attended College you will select “No Degree”. Quick Tip: If you have not previously attended college select “No Degree” under College Education Level.

Select Citizenship and Military Status Choose your Citizenship and answer the questions regarding Military. If your parents are active duty military or veterans, choose their appropriate status. Quick Tip: Make sure to click “Save” before moving onto the next section.

Make sure you answer each question as accurately as possible Please answer the residency questions. In the Special Residency Categories, read this section carefully. Quick Tip: If you are under 18 years old answer “No” to all Out-of-State Activities. Quick Tip: If you are under 18 years old answer “No” to all Out-of-State Activities.

Select the appropriate answers as they apply to you Quick Tip: If you are interested in Financial Aid, check “Yes” regarding receiving information about money for college. The question about TANF/CalWORKS, SSI or General Assistance refers to government assistance you or your family may be receiving.

You may choose multiple programs and services in which you are interested Information will be sent to you through email regarding the services you selected. Note, all of this info can also be found on our website should you need this information in the future.

Answer the questions below as accurately as possible Complete the Statistical Information. You may select “Unknown” for either of your parents highest level of education as well as family/household income.

Please read the “Request for Consent to Release Information” Please select the “I consent” after reading the Request for Consent to Release Information, and click continue.

Review MSJC Application Review your application. Verify that the term, your major, your educational goal are correct. Make sure that your name, address, and phone number, and all of the other information is accurate.

Review each section carefully Verify all sections of the application are true and correct.

Submit MSJC Application by clicking on the blue “Submit My Application” Button Ensure your have checked the two boxes, stating all of your information is true to the best of your knowledge and that you have received information regarding financial aid. Click the Submit My Application button.

Click on the “I have reviewed this application and confirm it is complete and accurate” link Click on “I have reviewed this application and confirm it is complete and accurate.”

Print confirmation page for your records Quick Tip: For security purposes make sure you sign out of your application. This is your confirmation page. We suggest you print or save this page for your records. Quick Tip: For security purposes make sure you sign out of your application. The Sign Out link is located on the upper, right-hand corner.

CONGRATUATIONS! You are now ready to move on to Step Three and create your CATEMA Account.
