People can live at different places in towns/cities in villages/ countryside in the mountains by the seaside on the beach/coast in the suburb

The main types of houses in GB and the USA: Detached (AmE a house) (a house standing by itself)

Semi-detached (AmE duplex) (two houses joined together

Terrace (AmE row houses) (several houses joined together)

Flats (apartments) A set of rooms which are a part of larger building – a block of flats

Bungalows A house with just one level

Cottages A house in the British countryside usually made of brick or stone

What is it: it is a device which we use to heat the house (central/gas heating) It is a room which is equipped for doing different sports or exercises (gymnasium) It is a place, room made of wood where we sit and the heat is produced by pouring water over hot rocks (sauna)
