Putaway Process Standard Work Instruction: Putaway Process Original Date: January 24, 2017 Version number: v1.0 Revision Date: Putaway Process This document will outline the steps for necessary for Putaway of inbound product. Follow steps for handheld login. As designated by receiving board; travel to your assigned unloading door. Locate available “received” skid/pallet (ask person receiving if you are unsure). Choose option 3 (Putaway). Press Enter. Choose option 1 (Putaway). Press Enter. In Select Organization screen enter your DC’s number (you will have to do this when you select your first task of each login). Scan barcode on LPN (License Plate Number) card. Press Enter. Find requested product on skid/pallet (you do not have to putaway in the specific order given, but it is recommended). Scan barcode on product (some product has multiple barcodes so it may be necessary to clear confirm line using CTRL+ Orange + K and scanning another barcode) or input product code manually (if inputting manually check the product description to ensure it is the correct product). Press Enter. Enter quantity on skid/pallet in Confirm line (if there is less in quantity than is requested, only input the quantity you have, this will open the Audit Page where you should select the appropriate reason for putting away the lesser quantity than requested (option 1). Press Enter. Report the reason for the exception and hand the LPN card to a supervisor for analysis and rectification). Travel to designated location. Scan location to confirm you are in correct location (if you are performing an exception, scan the new location and select option 2 in the audit screen and report the problem to a supervisor for analysis and rectification). Place requested quantity in location. Press Enter. Repeat steps 8 – 13 until screen fills the product confirmation line The last set of items to putaway on the LPN card will not require you to scan the product or to type in the item number, Also if there is a single location for requested putaway, it will not ask you to confirm product or quantity, it will simply give a desired location Note - it is recommended that if this happens that you inquire said LPN card to confirm inventory before putaway). If the product you are putting away clearly does not belong in the requested location (e.g. the surrounding bins are full of truck tires and you are putting away a lawn and garden tire)… Report the problem to a supervisor for analysis and rectification. Take product to a location with similar product and perform an exception, this time choosing option 3.
