Study time Any questions? 5 minutes

Quiz You have 15 minutes to complete. Hand in when finished. When done, 3-2-1! 3 facts you remember about the economic changes 2 questions you were confident about on the quiz. 1 question you still have about the economic or political changes in Antebellum America.

Social Changes Let's rewind one more time to explore social movements that occurred during the Antebellum Period. Several movements occurred during this time. Some examples: Feminism Transcendentalism Labor Religious

Social Changes You are going to be the teachers today! You will read a section of the textbook over a social movement and then teach it to other students. A note on abolition: Abolition: the movement to abolish or end slavery. Interacted or intertwined with other movements at the time. We will talk about this in more detail in our next unit.

Jigsaw Activity Pens/pencils down! Skim through your article. Look for headings, images, etc. What are you reading about? (5 minutes) Now re-read your article for understanding. Take notes on who, what, when, where, why, and how. Focus on important details! (10 minutes) Discuss the article with your table group. Ask questions for clarification. Remember you will have to teach this! (5 minutes)

APUSH 11/9/12 Please take your notes out from Wednesday. Wait patiently (and quietly) until the materials are distributed.

Jigsaw Activity Review your notes from Wednesday. Finish if necessary. (5 minutes) Discuss the article with your table group. Ask questions for clarification. Remember you will have to teach this! (5 minutes) Now you will join a group with 4 others and teach your topic to the group. Each person will have approximately 3 minutes to present. When others are presenting, take notes!! You are responsible for learning their information.

Jigsaw Activity Discuss the following question in your group: (5 minutes) Which social movement had the greatest impact on American lives? Create an advertisement for the movement that both describes the movement and proves that it had the greatest impact. (10 minutes) Hand in when done! 10 points for evaluation!

Quiz Work with your table on the quiz. You may use your notes. Hand in when done, and pick up a study guide. Start studying!
