System layout in PS ring and possible evolution Finemet Review M.Haase September 14th - 2015
PS longitudinal damper cavity in SS02 The Cavity Need no modification The Gap Relay circuit and Overvoltage protection circuit. Need to redesigned Cavity Structure Need no modification Amplifier support Need to redesigned For the New Improved Plug in amplifier
Gap relay circuit and Overvoltage protection circuit We have indicated the following problems: High beam induced voltage observed around 40 MHz. Passive gap monitor has a resonance at 40MHz. Instead we use the active gap monitor. Gap Relay efficiency is not good enough. PRESENT CIRCUIT
NEW IMPROVED AMPLIFIER PRESENT INSTALATION NEW AMPLIFIER We use the same new plug in amplifier as provided in the PSB
NEW: AMPLIFIER DOCKING STATION In the amplifier support we need: New water distribution to the amplifier New cabling to connect the amplifier New 40V (amplifier) & 25V (driver) connective system PRESENT AMPLIFIER SUPPORT
The shielding works very well to protect our amplifiers for radiation issues But the access to the amplifiers is very difficult! The shielding is done with iron brick L10cm x W10cm x H20cm weight ~15kg Total ~500kg The solution we design a shielding wall that we can open the wall like a paddle to simplify the access to the amplifier
Additional changes are necessary Installing of new control cables for the plug in amplifier from Building 151 to the Ring ~70m. Additional a 25V Driver cable and some spare cables Replacing the Control chassis and control electronics with the improved version.
Additional changes are necessary WATER DISTRBUTION Improvement of the exist main water distribution, to handle better the water consumption for the plug in amplifier and cavity. (Pressure reducer and water flow detector)
