White Flight IB Geography

White Flight Defined the move of white city-dwellers to the suburbs to escape the influx of minorities.

Blockbusting Defined the practice used by real estate agents of persuading owners to sell property cheaply because of the fear of people of another race or class moving into the neighborhood, and thus profiting by reselling at a higher price. A for-profit catalyst of white flight

Racial Steering Defined Racial steering refers to the practice in which real estate agents guide prospective home buyers towards or away from certain neighborhoods based on their race. Advising customers to purchase homes in particular neighborhoods on the basis of race Failing, on the basis of race, to show, or to inform buyers of homes that meet their specifications.
