USPSCN: USPS FILE MAINTENANCE

USPSCN MENU OPTIONS:

BRWSCN: Browse Employee Data Summary of payroll information by employee. Provides ability to access other USPSCN options such as deduction, pay account, biographical, demographical, benefit, job, position, and attendance records. Ability to view payroll check information. Provides guideline when adding new employee records.

ADD OPTION: Any deductions flagged in USPSDAT/DEDNAM as “1” or “2” will automatically be listed among the records to add in the employee’s DEDSCN.

BIOSCN: Biographical Data Maintenance First record created for new employee. Establishes the employee’s name and SSN on the system.

DEMSCN: Demographical Data Maintenance Useful information for EMIS staff reporting purposes.

BENSCN: Benefit Data Maintenance Allows you to add, delete, and/or modify employee sick, vacation, personal leave accrual information. View current leave balances.

JOBSCN: Job/Contract Data Maintenance Job and contract information for and employee.

POSSCN: Position Data Maintenance Summarizes non-contract information found on JOBSCN. Automatically created when JOBSCN is added. Used in conjunction with EMIS staff reporting.

PAYSCN: Pay Account Data Maintenance Pay account records for each job entered in JOBSCN. Accounts created are used to complete USAS charging of the payroll.

DEDSCN: Deduction Data Maintenance Used to add payroll deductions to an EMPLOYEE. For example: tax deductions, association dues, health care premiums. Remember--in order to withhold a deduction, the deduction type must be setup in USPSDAT/DEDNAM.

UPDCAL_CUR: Current Payroll Data Maintenance Add payroll information for employees not included in regular payroll process. Modify or delete payroll information for employees already included in current payroll.

UPDCAL_FUT: Future Payroll Data Maintenance Allows user to enter payroll exceptions before starting a payroll. Works in the same manner as UPDCAL_CUR except an effective date field appears.

MUNSCN: Multiple Municipality Maintenance Used when an employee is subject to taxation by more than taxing municipality. Displays up to eight active city deductions records you have setup for the employees through USPSCN/DEDSCN. Allows you to verify gross before amount before it is updated on the city tax deduction record by CHKUPD.

MUNSCN: Multiple Municipality Maintenance Allows you to modify to multiple municipality rate, percentage of gross, and total gross taxed fields. Any changes will be reflected for the current payroll only. They do NOT change the values found on the city tax deduction record.

MUNSCN: Multiple Municipality Maintenance If you wish to modify the total gross field, you must clear the percentage of gross field for the calculation to occur.

REFSCN: Refund of Deduction Processing Used to process a refund of deduction to an employee. Allows a partial or total reimbursement to the employee.
