Human Rights and Democracy in Action EC/CoE Pilot Projects Scheme

Added Value Innovation Ownership Concrete results The scheme sets up a unique innovative cooperation platform in which the participating countries agree on objectives of common interest. The projects are designed in common by the participating countries themselves and therefore meet their respective national priorities in the field of citizenship and human rights education. The outcomes are concrete and available straight after the implementation of the project. They are used and disseminated in all the participating countries and can impact their respective educational policies in the short term because they were achieved by the participating countries and meet therefore their needs.

What did the projects focus on?

What are the results? An assessment of the state of citizenship and human rights education with a specific focus on teacher training and training modules. An analytical report on the development of skills for promoting social cohesion, valuing diversity and handling differences. A report on the degree of reflection of the principles of the Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education in the curricula.

What are the results? A professional development pack for teachers on how to address controversial issues A toolkit to help teachers developing students’ ability to evaluate information from media and social networks
