Why move west? Look in your notes and list the reasons why so many moved west following the Civil War. Choose one of them and write a story, poem, song, or draw a picture showing a person seeking his fortune. Make it as creative and/or colorful as possible. Possible examples: Cowboys, miners, ranchers, homesteaders, etc.
