Multimodal Transportation Aviation Ports Marine Rail Public Transportation Highways “Enhance integration and connectivity of system across modes for people and freight” From U.S DOT Planning Factors To accomplish these goals and objectives the Department is currently organized as previously shown with an integrated system comprised of the various modes of transportation all tied together through an intricate network of highways. We begin our look at each of those modes with an overview of the Aviation Section and its functions. (NEXT SLIDE – Aviation)

DOTD Budget - $1.7 Billion For the current fiscal year, we have a $1.7 billion budget. Again, this does not include general fund dollars which is where the budget deficit is located. We have worked very hard to be efficient and produce results for Louisiana.

Federal FAST Act The FAST Act authorizes $305B over FY 2016-2020 for the Transportation Ended era of short term extensions. First time ever to create a freight program Authorized additional competitive funding opportunities.

The current tax is 38.4 cents per gallon. Assuming a person drives 1000 miles per month, the average total tax paid per vehicle is $184.00 in a year. 2. Cost per season ticket on the side line, at terrace 3. Resources: American Road  & Transportation Builders Association, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics BLS Report March 2014, AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report (July 2014- July 2015) The $0.20 cents total state tax is $134.76, a difference of about $27.00. This equates to about $.30 per day, traveling about 32 miles per day. 1. The current state tax is $0.16 cents/gallon. Assuming a person drives 1000 miles per month, Gas cost is $2.27/gal. the average total tax paid per vehicle is $134.00 in a year. Levee Connectivity Development follows the rivers. Many of you may be concentrated on your levees, but this map illustrates the connectivity of what you do. We are all tied together by water flowing through Louisiana.

Statewide Flood Control Program Overview Primary goal to reduce existing flood damages by considering both structural and non-structural solutions Funded by Transportation Trust Fund $8.9M funding last two years ($9.9M average in prior years) Applicants can be: » Parish Governments » Municipal Governments » Levee Boards » Drainage Districts

Dam Safety Program Program created by Act 733 of the 1981 Regular Legislative Session Responsibilities are to: » Define & Enforce Minimum Standards » Maintain the State Dam Safety Inventory » Ensure that all dams are inspected per guidelines

Levee Safety Program Inspections Inventory/Mapping Assist Levee Districts with the Quarterly and Semi-Annual Inspections Provide Semi-Annual Inspection Reports Provide Recommendations/Options for Corrective Actions Inventory/Mapping Inventory Levee Assets Develop GIS Maps Assist Levee Districts with the Quarterly and Semi-Annual Inspections Inspections are performed using DOTD’s recently developed Levee Inspection and Data Management System. Levee Safety Program Permits Engineering Support Review permit applications Provide Letter of Response to appropriate Levee District » Non-coastal (DOTD) » Coastal (CPRA) Ensure compliance with engineering standards Engineering Support Set-back Design Drainage Design Cost Estimates Permit Advisory Letters for Levee Boards North of I-10 Permits processed at DOTD district offices Permits are finalized at the Public Works and Water Resources Section DOTD uses an in-house program called OPWP, which was created and maintained by DOTD IT Section.   Permit Advisory Letters for Levee Boards South of I-10 Processed by CPRA Uses a program called the CUP system.
