AVID AVID is a post-high school readiness program to help students become more successful We will be using binders and planners this year to have our students be more organized There are color coded folders in their for each subject Math: Blue Reading: Red Social Studies: Yellow Science: Green Graded/Take Home: Purple

Math: Blue Homework: given every Monday, due every Friday (no HW on CBA weeks) This should be kept in the blue section of the binder. Unfinished work may also be sent home periodically. Journals: can be used for reference throughout the year (It may be taken home to help with homework but needs to be in class EVERY day.) Fact Practice: critical for student success! Xtramath, Prodigy Google Classroom - login with school e-mail - ______@apps.dickinsonisd.org It will be used to post reviews, classroom assignments, and more. Graded papers should be in the purple section of their binder. Assignments that are below 70% should be corrected and returned for additional credit unless otherwise noted.

Science: Green Homework will given out every Monday and is due each week on Friday. (This should be kept in the green science section or the clear protector in the front of their binder) All students should have a composition book in my class. This will be kept in class unless we have a test that week. Graded work will be put in the purple section of their binder and may be taken out at home. Anything I want them to keep in their binder will be kept in the green section of their binder. Please don’t take out anything in the green section so that they can use those materials to study for tests. Google Classroom will be used as communication with students for announcements, reminders, and some assignments. Please use my teacher website to see what is happening in class. Homework assignments can be found there if your student loses their copy.

Reading/ELA (Red tab/divider): For Botting’s class, homework is assigned on Monday and is due Friday of the same week. The purpose of the homework is to see where students are at either prior to a unit or to provide extra practice on units that students may be struggling. Binder with dividers Folder 2 composition notebook (1 for Reading and 1 for Writing) Make sure your student is reading at home in spare time. Please encourage them to share with our class what they’ve been reading. Students should not take their Reading and Writing notebooks home. Graded work will be placed in the student’s binders in the purple divider

Reading/ELA (Red tab/divider): For Strickhausen’s class, homework is not assigned at this time. I do, however, ask that students read at home Mon-Thurs evenings. It is possible for work to come home that was not completed in class. Extra work/practice can and will be sent home if a student is struggling in an area. Binder with dividers (already given) 2 composition notebook (1 for Reading and 1 for Writing) Make sure your student is reading at home in spare time. Students should not take their Reading and Writing notebooks home. Graded work will be placed in the student’s binders in the purple divider

Unfinished work will be sent home as homework Students should have 1 composition book for notes Notes that are handed out will be placed behind the yellow divider in their binders. All graded papers will go in the purple divider.
