Training Trends Plan Presentation Christine Fulton AET/570 November 2, 2015 Charity Jennings, Ph.D.

Agenda The top four training trends in your industry (Mail Order Pharmacy) Discuss the Goals Objectives Strategies There are many trends in training that come to mind with teaching. Here at CVS CAREMARK most employees are not computer “savvy” and have had to learn a lot over that last few years as we have become more automated. With each new program or program update the employees are struggling with these new technologies. The training trends I have chosen to discuss here are the ones that will enable the not so computer educated employees, get on board with current technology and not feel so frustrated while doing their day to day tasks at work.

The top four training trends Becoming more Web 2.0 literate Media/Video tools Social media tools Individualization/Personalization The top training trends we are using here are as with most businesses these days, are similar. Many businesses are moving towards these trends if not already adopted them. First one becoming more Web 2.0 literate has become very important in order to be more relaxed with technology and the ever changing programs we work with. Secondly is media/video content preferred over written content with the understanding video is more portable then any written content. Video can go everywhere, its compact and can be accessed anywhere on just about anything. (Nxtbook.com, 2015) Thirdly, more social media tools for learning. The trends are reflecting the current age group in the market today which are Millennials and they want to use social media for all things connected to them. They are comfortable with this and will retain more information this way as well. (Medved, 2015) When training the older employees using these tools will also enhance their knowledge but might even impress themselves that they might step into the next generation and welcome it. And finally, more Individualization/Personalization more personal experience in training and to be able to work on their own. By tailoring learning to individuals then they will want to learn and be involved in their learning. (Nxtbook.com, 2015)

How the trends will prepare the organization to proactively address these trends. Goals Objectives Strategies Goals are what we set for ourselves and objectives are how we get there. Strategies are ways we will accomplish the objectives. Starting at goals are the trends in which the company will need to move toward to be more competitive in training. The goal is to have all employees Web 2.0 literate by using more personalized training, more media/video based, use social media as a training tool. The objectives to get there would be to train more employees to become comfortable with Web 2.0 technology by tailoring their training and using social media and video content to make it more accessible for them to access the training. The strategies are the ways we will train the employees and entice them into learning and wanting to learn. Making training more accessible and allowing them time at work to train at their own pace and leisure as well. On large complaint for trainees is that they learn something and then are never given the time to use the new skill set and keep up with older ones as well. With training will well introduce gaming that the employee can go into and use for keeping skills sets current and up to date without actually working the queues. They can use these games online at work or at home as they will be mobile friendly. (Zamir, 2015) In conclusion, with these trends in training, we hope to bring the older generation closer to the younger generation and entice all to learn and have a better experience with training. The gaming sequences will help in brining everyone to the same level. Thank you.
