Frequently Asked Questions How much does Upgrade Readiness cost? The service is free, and data ingestion/storage/processing does not count toward your Azure subscription or OMS limits. Do I have to install an Upgrade Readiness agent on my machines? No – the inventory collector is an in-box OS component. You will need to make sure that you have the latest compatibility update KB for your operating system. How much data is uploaded off of my machines? When you run the Upgrade Analytics deployment script, about 2MB of data is uploaded per machine. What are the telemetry requirements for using Upgrade Readiness? In order to use Upgrade Analytics, your Windows 10 machines will need to have a telemetry level of ‘Basic’ or higher. My InfoSec team does not want Device Names collected. Can this be avoided? Yes – with the latest compatibility update KB (Feb. 2017), you have the option to prevent device name from being collected.
