FPTK Core Development Targets Making TVET teacher education relevant for the labor market and for societal and economic development Developing national and international TVET research and knowledge creation and exchange Contributing to quality development in TVET (quality teacher education, development of work-process oriented TVET, vocational standards, etc.) Enhancing national cooperation between TVET stakeholders (teacher education, schools, companies) Involving in ASEAN qualification framework development (if possible)

FPTK Past Activities EU Asia-Link funded project “Development of Transnational Standards for Teacher Training for TVET (TT-TVET) with a Multidisciplinary and Industrial Orientation from 2005 to 2008. First World Congress on TVET Teacher Education at UPI in the year 2008. 1st International UPI Conference on TVET”, held at UPI in November 2010.

FPTK Current Activities (1) MoU with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), ITB, University of Bremen, Germany and 3 Indoensian Universities University of Education, Heidelberg, Germany Beijing Normal University, China Support by German Expert Dr. Joachim Dittrich in Staff, Curriculum, and Research Development in TVET teacher education (CIM, German Development Cooperation). Regional Cooperation Platform (RCP) on Vocational Teachers Training, a network of Teacher Education Institutions from China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore (to be extended).

FPTK Current Activities (2) Cooperation with the Indonesian-German cooperation project “Sustainable Economic Development through TVET (SED-TVET) Developing an Indonesian TVET Research Centre at UPI

FPTK UPI Future Activities Membership in the EDUNET Network on teaching of industrial automation (sponsored by Phoenix Contact) Creating a “mutual accreditation of study achievements scheme” for TVET teacher education 2nd UPI International Conference on TVET (October/November 2012)

FPTK’s Possible Contributions to The UNEVOC Network Recently implemented the first Indonesian TVET Research Centre; Offer to coordinate regional R&D activities (selected focal areas) Bi-annual TVET conferences; Offer to organize jointly with UNESCO-UNEVOC in order to develop UNEVOC in a regular UNEVOC Network and knowledge exchange event TVET Teacher Education: Offer to coordinate a respective sub-network (information exchange, cooperation of mutual recognition of study achievements, joint standards, etc.)
