LPI’s Sky Fest Explores Telescopes, JWST The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) hosted a public event (Sky Fest) on February 25, 2017 Sky Fest events are thematic events designed to encourage and facilitate science learning among the public, particularly families Event topics center on celestial objects/events or NASA SMD mission milestones ~400 visitors attended the February 25th event Activities included: Using lenses to manipulate images Constructing simple telescopes to take home Night sky viewing with telescopes Presentations from JSC on the center’s current testing of the JWST Taking your picture with JWST Andy Shaner, Public Engagement Lead Lunar and Planetary Institute / shaner@lpi.usra.edu 03 March 2017
