Causes of Truck Accidents /

Driver Error Driver fatigue Inattention and distractions Substance abuse Failure to securely load cargo

Weather Conditions Unfavorable weather conditions increase the braking distance for trucks.

Improper Loading Can result in the load being unequally distributed, therefore causing an imbalance Can cause the truck to topple over when it would otherwise remain upright

Inefficient Driver Specialized training is needed to operate big trucks. Truck drivers are required to have special licensing. Truck drivers need adequate training for defensive driving and the proper handling of safety issues. Lack of adequate training and experience can make the driver more prone to accidents.

Condition of the Driver If truck drivers are paid by the miles they drive, they may drive for too many hours without sufficient rest, thereby being more susceptible to accidents.
